The vanity unit comprises an outer casing 2 and it is movable between a stowed position where it is within the casing (Fig.2) and a use position where it is accessible for use. The unit may be movable between both positions by sliding means comprising tracks 4 or runners, or by hinge means and it may have its own illuminating means 6 that may be actuated automatically or manually when the unit is moved to the use position. The unit may also have storage compartments, including receptacles 8 for a hair dryer and drawers 9 and its own electrical socket extension(s) 10. |
