The invention relates to a novel disposable injection device which comprises a reservoir for injection media and an injection outlet provided on the reservoir which can be penetrated by one end of a hypodermic needle sharpened on both ends, said injection media being for example solutions or suspensions. The injection device should be manageable by untrained personnel without any problems and with one hand only. For this purpose, a needle retainer (7) comprising the hypodermic needle (11a) is provided under the bottom part (4) of the reservoir (1). A needle chamber (14a) with flexible lateral walls is linked with the bottom part (4) and/or with the needle retainer (7). A device for irreversibly fixing the hypodermic needle in the needle chamber once the injection device is actuated is disposed in the needle chamber (14a). Said fixing device substantially consists of a needle platform (17a) that interacts with an elastic element (12). Used injection devices of the above-described type do therefore not bear any risk of injury. Certain embodiments of the inventive device also facilitate injections at angles flatter than 90 DEG with respect to the skin surface. |
