PURPOSE: An apparatus for keeping telephone number backup of a user stored in a portable mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to conveniently back up telephone numbers of a mobile terminal user by transmitting a telephone number data file stored in a mobile terminal to a mail server of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A telephone number backup function is selected from a menu provided from a mobile terminal to back up telephone numbers of a user stored in the mobile terminal(S31). A control unit executes an e-mail transmitting and receiving control program to connect the mobile terminal to a mail server of the mobile terminal wherein an e-mail account of the mobile terminal user is set up(S32). The control unit confirms whether a telephone number data file is to be transmitted to the mail server of the mobile terminal, and transmits the telephone number data file to the e-mail account of the mail server of the mobile terminal(S33). The connection between the mobile terminal and the mail server of the mobile terminal is released(S34). |
