PURPOSE: A method for deciding a training signal in an OFDM transmission system, an OFDM receiver using a training signal, and a receiving method thereof are provided to estimate a frequency offset by forming a correlation value between subcarriers proportional to the frequency offset. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of odd-numbered subcarriers are determined as 0 in a frequency region. A plurality of even-numbered subcarriers are modulated by performing an M-level phase modulation process. The first training symbol is decided by using a differential modulation method to form constantly a phase difference between two subcarriers. The even-numbered subcarriers are determined as 0 in the frequency region. The odd-numbered subcarriers are modulated by performing the M-level phase modulation process. The second training symbol is decided by using the differential modulation method to form constantly the phase difference between two subcarriers.
