FIELD: banking equipment. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bank notes sorting machines. According to proposed method profile of bank note section is obtained using triangulation method of measuring distance of bank note points relative to surface of bank note displacement, and parameter of bank note sorting is calculated for each type of bank notes on basis of static calculations with generating of signals "good", "doubtful" or "defective", depending on designed parameter of sorting.
