METHOD FOR PROCESSING MULTICAST PACKETS FOR SUPPORTING TUNNELING, AND NODE THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for processing multicast packets for supporting tunneling, and a node thereof are provided to remove loss of multicast packets generated due to a node not supporting a multicast service, and realize a multicast service through the shortest path without time delay. CONSTITUTION: A receiving buffer receives packets from a network for temporarily storing the packets(S1). A receiving module judges whether the received packets are multicast packets(S2). If so, a forwarding module inquires the optimum path to transmit the packets through multicast routing, and judges whether a sub-node to receive the packets supports a multicast service(S3). If the sub-node does not support the multicast service, a tunnel IP header stored in a tunnel information buffer is added to the received multicast packets(S4). If the received packets are not multicast packets, or the sub-node supports the multicast service, or the sub-node does not support the multicast service, the received multicast packets are transmitted to the sub-node by adding the tunnel IP header(S5).
