PURPOSE: A method for detecting a life of transfer roller and an electro-photograph type image forming device adopted with the life detection method are provided to exactly detect an exchange time of a transfer roller by considering printing conditions under which a resistance increased change of the transfer roller can differ, thereby preventing printing quality from deteriorating. CONSTITUTION: An LSU(Laser Scanning Unit)(210) generates a laser beam. An OPC(Organic Photo Conductor)(220) receives the laser beam, and forms an electrostatic latent image. A DR(Developing Roller)(230) supplies a toner to the OPC(220), and develops an electrostatic latent image. A TR(Transfer Roller)(240) transfers an image to a printing paper. A display(250) displays various information on printing. An HVPS(High Voltage Power Supply) device(260) supplies power. A controller(270) controls operations of each unit. A CR(Charge Roller)(280) charges a surface of the OPC(220) with a predetermined electric potential. An S(Sensor)(290) detects the number of total printing sheets.
