The sanding block consists of a support (2) of a resilient material such as plastic foam or cork with a wedge-shaped cross-section (6) for a supple sheet (4) of an abrasive material (3) held in place by inserting its two ends in a lengthwise slot (7) in the support's surface. The wedge has an outer surface that is slightly rough and/or adhesive.
