The liquid purification plant, especially for the desalination of sea water, consists of four compression chambers (15, 16, 17, 18) with outlets connected to a reverse osmosis filter (39). The chambers are mounted back to back to form two compression lines, with the two chambers in the same line containing pistons (19, 20, 21, 22) with linked rods (19a, 19b, 20a, 20b, 21a, 21b, 22a, 22b) that pass through rear chambers (15a, 16a, 17a, 18a) behind the pistons and distribution chambers (23, 23a, 23b, 24. 24a, 24b, 25, 25a, 25b, 26, 26a, 26b) that control the pressure in the rear chambers.
