A sprung hanger grip, e.g. for playground equipment for children, has a vertical shaft (4) with a thickened grip (3) at the bottom end and with the top end fitted into an outer sleeve (6) with sliding support and with a sprung fitting which enables the grip to extend under load. The hanger is secured to an overhead frame (2) using threaded fasteners. A spiral spring is gripped between a radial flange fastened to the shaft and the inside of the sleeved housing, and is compressed by tensile forces on the hanger. The thickened hand grip can be a simple sphere secured to the end of the shaft by threaded fasteners in a recessed mounting. |
