SHOOT SUPPRESSING METHOD WHILE IMPROVING IMAGE DETAIL AND DEVICE THEREOF

PURPOSE: A shoot suppressing method while improving an image detail is provided to suppress shoot defects in shoot areas only, as maintaining an image detail improvement in not-shoot areas, thereby improving an image detail while suppressing the shoot defects. CONSTITUTION: A system calculates a symmetrical factor based on image feature values of pixels adjacent to a current pixel(24). The system compares the calculated symmetrical factor with upper/lower threshold values(26). If the symmetrical factor is near to '1', the system shows that a brightness curve of pixels is substantially symmetrical to a current pixel position(28). If the symmetrical factor is near to '0', the system shows that the brightness curve is substantially asymmetrical to the current pixel position(30). The system calculates a shoot suppression factor(32). The system suppresses shoot defects by applying the calculated shoot suppression factor to a detailed signal(34).
