PURPOSE: Physiological active materials from Acanthopanax sessiliflorus and an isolation process thereof are provided. The physiological active materials can improve immunity. CONSTITUTION: An isolation process of physiological active materials from Acanthopanax sessiliflorus comprises the steps of: heating Acanthopanax sessiliflorus in distilled water at 121 deg. C for 2 hours; adding ethanol into the heat extract of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus at 4 deg. C for 1 day to obtain a precipitate; centrifuging the precipitate and dialyzing the centrifuged ethanol precipitate in distilled water for 3 days; concentrating and freeze-drying a nondialyzed fraction to obtain crude polysaccharide; adsorbing the crude polysaccharide to the DEAE sepalose CL-6B column; and eluting the adsorbed polysaccharide with 0.1 to 1M NaCl. |
