PURPOSE: A shelf lifting device for a refrigerator, and a refrigerator are provided to easily change a height of a shelf without moving stores and separating the shelf from a cavity, and maximize space utilization of the cavity by minutely controlling a position of the shelf. CONSTITUTION: A movable plate(101) is liftable. A shelf(102) is fixedly combined with a front of the movable plate for supporting stores of a cavity. A lifting device lifts the movable plate. The lifting device includes a control handle installed at the front of the movable plate and rotatively combined with the movable plate, and a power converting part formed at a rear of the movable plate and converting rotative power of the control handle into straight power to lift the movable plate.
