PURPOSE: A camera for watching the back of a vehicle is provided to freely control the speed and rotary angle of the camera by having a stepping motor for driving a shutter in a forward/reverse direction. CONSTITUTION: A camera for watching the back of a vehicle is composed of a camera body(1) having front and rear housings(5,7) made of an aluminum alloy, a camera(55) installed in the camera body, a window holder(53) for sticking a transparent member(50) to a window(8) formed at the front housing, a shutter(87) for protecting the camera from an impact, and a driving unit. The driving unit includes a stepping motor(101) for driving the shutter in a forward/reverse direction, and a PIC microcontroller(67) for controlling the stepping motor.
