Extendable elements consisting of elastic straps (1) serve as main straps and as subsidiary straps for a buckle (8, 9) at the waist of the wearer. The elastic straps are adjustable between the shoulder straps (2) and the body of the bag (3). The upper ends of the elastic straps ate stitched perpendicularly to the sides of the body of the bag and extend horizontally to the free ends of the shoulder straps. The elastic strap passes through an upper deviation element (4) which changes its direction by about 45 degrees, so that the strap passes through a lower deviation element (5). The extendable strap (1) is provided with a Velcro male strip (6) and a Velcro female strip (7), such that the two strips can be joined together.
