PURPOSE: An apparatus for purifying and sterilizing water using sodium hypochlorite is provided to disinfect water using sodium hypochlorite obtained through control of rectifier when salt water passes through electrolysis tank and simultaneously sterilize and purify water by passing water through microfilter, water softener and storage tank. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is characterized in that treated water is supplied by passing influent through microfilter(1), water passing through the microfilter is supplied to a water softener(2), water passing through the water softener is supplied to salt water storage tank(3), salt(6) is injected into the salt water storage tank, salt water in the salt water storage tank is supplied to an electrolysis tank(4), the electrolysis tank is connected to a sterilizer storage tank(5), and the sterilizer storage tank is connected to the treated water, wherein the electrolysis tank is controlled by a rectifier(70) and connected to an acid cleaning water storage tank(8) connected to the electrolysis tank, and wherein sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is produced by decomposing the salt in the electrolysis tank by controlling the rectifier after injecting salt into the salt water storage tank so that the produced sodium hypochlorite is stored in the sterilizer storage tank before it is injected into treated water (supply water) as a sterilizer.
