PURPOSE: Provided is a heat treatment device in which distribution of temperature in the heat treatment chamber is uniformly maintained by preventing leak of heat from a heat treatment chamber without increasing height of the device, and which is promptly and certainly operated by reducing driving force of an opening and closing mechanism of opening part for taking in and out works to be treated. CONSTITUTION: In a heat treatment device(1) in which flat sheet type works (W) are supported in multistage by a supporting unit installed in a heat treatment chamber(2) to heat treat the works by taking out the works one by one from an opening part(1a) of the heat treatment chamber, the heat treatment device is characterized in that the supporting unit is installed to maintain a certain position, the works are put in a plurality of stages on the supporting unit, and the heat treatment device comprises slit members(4) a plural of which are installed to close the opening part, equipped with slits(41) enabling the works to be taken in and out and liftably and lowerably installed; small doors(5) which are installed oppositely to the slit members at the outer side of the opening for the slit members, which are capable of opening or closing corresponding slits respectively as a plural small doors, and which are formed in such a way that the doors surround the opening part from the outer side when the slits are opened or closed; an elevation mechanism for lifting and lowering the slit members so that the plural slits are stopped at positions of the respective plural stages; and an opening and closing mechanism for opening and closing the plural small doors respectively.
