<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify products thoroughly, call for safety, and send directions and so on for the product in the event of a failure, by discriminating devices and household electrical appliances installed for the user. <P>SOLUTION: An electric water heater 10 has various kinds of information, which identifies the device, as service identification information beforehand, and transmits the service identification information when receiving a request to read information from a portable terminal 30. The portable terminal 30 transmits the service identification information, which has been obtained from the electric water heater 10 in response to the request to read information, to a server 50 via a communication network, and transmits user information to the server 50 via the communication network when the user information is inputted which identifies the user in response to a key operation.
