PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of avoiding erroneous assembly of male and female housings when the housings are assembled in a wrong direction even if a hood has a structure easy to be deformed particularly. SOLUTION: Ribs 4A, 4B extended in a longitudinal direction are provided in right and left end parts in upper and lower surfaces of the female housing 1. Rib housing grooves 10A, 10B capable of receiving ribs 4A, 4B when the housings 1, 2 are assembled in a regular assembling direction are provided in the hood 9 of the male housing 2. Disconformable opening edges 11A, 11B are vertically alternately projected in an opening edge part of the hood 9. Since the ribs 4A, 4B abut on the disconformable opening edges 11A, 11B and incline from an axial direction when the housings 1, 2 are assembled in a positionally deviated condition, the erroneous assembly can be avoided.
