PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interlayer for a glass laminate which does not cause a problem, such as appearance defects, in laminating it to glass, can be produced easily (especially, with ease in winding up) in a high productivity without requiring e.g. the improvement in a conventional production apparatus, and is suitable for a HUD device; and to provide a glass laminate using the interlayer. SOLUTION: The interlayer is sandwiched between two glass plates facing each other, thus forming a glass laminate, and contains a tapered layer, i.e., a layer having a gradually decreasing thickness, having a refractive index different from that of the remainder of the interlayer.
