PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply light on an operation panel having an operation switch for operating and stopping a passenger conveyor and reduce maintenance and inspection work such as replacement. SOLUTION: The operation panel 14 having the operation switch 16 or 18 for operating and stopping the passenger conveyor is provided in a skirt part 13 provided between a railing and a step. A luminaire 20 using a cold cathode fluorescent lamp 21 as a light source by utilizing characteristics such as the small tube diameter and a long service life is arranged on an operation panel 15 of the operation panel 14 or in the skirt part 13 to illuminate the front of the operation panel 14.
