PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating device capable of preventing the damage of an excavating means to suppress a maintenance cost by sufficiently securing the strength of a connection part between a widening bit for widening an excavated hole, and a body part of the excavating means. SOLUTION: This excavating device is provided with a rotating means liftably supported to a base machine and having a rotating shaft 21 mounted with a lower excavating means (the excavating means) 50 at the lower end. The lower excavating means 50 is provided with the body parts 51R, 51L, excavating bits 55 provided at bottom face parts 54 of the body parts 51R, 51L to excavate the excavated hole, and the widening bits 53 provided at side face parts 52 of the body parts 51R, 51L to widen the excavated hole. The body parts 51R, 51L are constituted to freely change the expansion and retraction of the bottom face parts 54 in the diametrical direction of the excavated hole by hydraulic cylinders (driving means) 56.
