PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide structural stainless steel in which intergranular corrosion resistance particularly in weld heat-affected zone is markedly improved and which has excellent toughness of weld heat-affected zone, low strength and high elongation. SOLUTION: The steel has a composition containing, by mass, <0.008% C,≤1.0% Si,≤1.5% Mn, 11 to 15% Cr, >1.0 to 2.5% Ni, <0.10% Al and≤0.009% N each within the range satisfying prescribed inequalities.
