PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulk shaped Fe based sintered alloy soft magnetic material consisting of metal glass having extremely excellent soft magnetic properties by obtaining spherical metal glass alloy particles with a large particle diameter by an atomizing method having a slow cooling rate by an alloy with a specified composition having extremely excellent amorphous alloy formability, and further having excellent soft magnetic properties, and producing a high density sintered compact consisting of a metal glass phase having a relative density of≥99.0% by performing plasma discharge sintering under high pressure using the spherical metal glass alloy particles. SOLUTION: The bulk shaped Fe based sintered metal soft magnetic material consisting of metal glass has a high density by sintering almost spherical metal glass alloy particles with a relatively large particle diameter produced by an Fe-Co-Ga-P-C-B based or Fe-Ga-P-C-B-Si based gas atomizing method at a crystallization starting temperature or lower under the pressure of≥200 MPa, further has a metal glass single phase structure as-sintered, also has excellent soft magnetic properties so as to be applied to a magnetic head, a transformer, the core of a motor or the like, and has a high specific resistance.
