METHOD FOR PRODUCING ADDITION POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an addition polymer while suppressing the coloring problem in the addition polymerization using a single-site catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for the production of an addition polymer comprises the addition polymerization in the presence of an oxidizing agent (D) using an addition polymerization catalyst produced by bringing (A) an activation cocatalyst component containing a component developing a color other than white color by the reduction in the addition polymerization reaction system into contact with (B) a compound of a transition metal of a group 3-11 metal or a lanthanoid series metal and (C) an organic aluminum compound. The cocatalyst component (A) for activation is an organic metal component containing a metal atom having an Allred-Rochow electric negativity higher than that of aluminum atom and having an oxidation state higher than zero.
