The invention relates to a device for attaching a window pane of a motor vehicle to the guide device of a window lifter, the device comprising retaining limbs which are arranged on both sides of the lower region of the window pane and of which at least one retaining limb has a recess in which a connecting element can engage for the purpose of latching the window pane, at least an upper part of at least one retaining limb being of resilient design and bearing an insertion bevel which is oriented in the direction of the lower edge of the pane and extends essentially parallel thereto, characterised in that, for the purpose of latching the window pane (1), the connecting element is connected to the window pane (1) prior to being inserted into the gap between the retaining limbs (4) and, in the attached state, engages in the recess(es) (40) of the retaining limb(s) (4). Suitable connecting elements are pins mounted in through-holes in the pane, elements bonded onto the pane or elements shaped out of the pane itself.
