A filter member made of sinter metal material, consists of a number of filter pockets (2) which extend longitudinally along the filter body (1). Neighbouring filter pocket walls (8,8') near the end of the filter, are joined together. A gap (9) is located between the walls, which is covered by a mask (4), and the mask is soldered to the filter wall closures and the neighbouring walls.
