Membrane osmometer derives semi-permeability from solvent volatility, pore gas filling, high wetting resistance and low vapor pressure of dissolved substance

Semi-permeability of the membrane results from a combination of factors. These are solvent volatility, gas filling and high wetting resistance of membrane pores in respect of the liquid solvent employed, and low vapor pressure of the dissolved substance. An Independent claim is included for the method of measuring osmotic pressure or chemical potential of a fluid using the membrane osmometer.
