PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of increasing comfortableness by increasing heating capacity in heating start operation and defrosting operation. SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises a heater for heating refrigerant or air and a current detection means for detecting the operating current of the air conditioner. The operating current of the air conditioner is detected by the current detection means, and an energization duty to the heater can be controlled up to the limit current value of a power circuit.
