PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skidproof material that is low in costs, sprayable on ordinary drive ways in cold districts of which the outside air temperature severely falls down in the winter season and also applicable to highly specified roads having a porous structure. SOLUTION: The granular skidproof material is prepared by reacting an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal compound with a carboxylic acid. The compounds are alkali or alkaline-earth metal hydroxide and the molar ratio of the carboxylic acid to the hydroxide is kept at≤50% . In some cases, slaked lime may be used as an alkali or alkaline-earth metal hydroxide. In other cases, the sludge (lime cake:lime sludge) occurring in the beet purification process (lime cake or lime sludge) also may be used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
