PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition comprising a phyllosilicate finely dispersed therein, having good rigidity, good hydrolytic resistance and further good thermal stability, especially useful for a thermoplastic resin composition composed of an aromatic polycarbonate resin. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts. wt. of an amorphous thermoplastic resin (component A) and (B) 0.1-50 pts. wt. of a phyllosilicate (component B) having 50-200 mequivalents/100 g cation exchange capacity. The component B in the resin composition has 5-40 average number of laminates of the silicate layer determined by X-ray diffraction and the bottom face interval is within the range of 1.3-2.3 nm.
