PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening, or the like, of preventing/treating agents for diabetic nephropathy, or the like. SOLUTION: The method for screening the preventing/treating agents for diabetic nephropathy is provided by using G-protein-conjugated type receptor proteins (an EDG-2 receptor, EDG-3 receptor or EDG-5 receptor) containing amino acid sequences which are the same or substantially same to any of the amino acid sequences expressed by sequence number: 1, sequence number: 5 or sequence number:9 in the specification, or their salts.
