PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thinning razor which allows even a beginner or an inexperienced person to thin hair to be used safely. SOLUTION: This thinning razor is composed of a grip portion of a C-shape and a thin blade portion fixed to one free end of the grip portion. The blade portion has a flat V- or U-shape, and the edge of the blade portion is formed along the inside edge of the V- or U-shape. The blade portion is disposed so that the opening side of the V- or U-shape faces to the other free end of the grip portion, and a surface of the blade portion is disposed substantially parallel to a surface of the grip portion. The grip portion has a periphery of a predetermined width and the inside space formed so as to have a sufficient size to removably insert an index finger thereinto, and one free end of the grip portion has a notch having a shape corresponding to the blade portion so as to expose the edge of the blade portion.
