PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely adjust a load corresponding to the state of an exercising person, to cope with fine exercise contents and to finely adjust the load corresponding to adjustment at the position of a tool. SOLUTION: This physical exercise apparatus is constituted so as to train muscles at a prescribed site by turning a nearly U-shaped lever having grips at both of its ends and supported obliquely downward turnably by a rotary shaft to a frame forward and backward against a selected load of a weight which can be moved vertically in a frame for suspend-supporting a weight in the neighborhood of the frame. The lever is provided with: a counter weight so as to be positioned to a side opposite to the shaft; and an adjustment part for controlling the load of the lever with respect to the weight of this counter weight.
