Condensing a lap into sliver, especially for producing sliver from comber, involves a collecting guide that displaces all fibers sideways

The combed lap (V) from the detaching roller (6) is collected on the table (9) and condensed into sliver (FB) by passing it through a funnel (11) into a collecting guide (12). The guide (12) is displaced sideways by a distance (c) of 8 to 20 mm beyond the width (b) of the lap. Alternatively the sideways displacement can be obtained within the lap width by the use of guides. An Independent claim is also included for the process of condensing a lap, especially on a comber, that displaces all fibers sideways before passing them through a collecting guide (12). The fiber path can be inclined or have more than one change in direction.
