EMISSIVE PLASTIC OPTICAL FIBER USING PHASE SEPARATION AND BACKLIGHT UNIT FOR LCD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An emissive plastic optical fiber using phase separation and a backlight unit for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) using the same are provided to induce the phase separation in a polymer forming a core and a clad and fabricate the emissive plastic optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: The emissive plastic optical fiber is formed as a core and a clad. The core and the clad are formed as an opaque phase by the phase separation of polymer. The refracting ratio distribution of the emissive plastic optical fiber is a step index type or a plat type in which a refracting ratio of the core is less than a refracting ratio of the clad. The clad is formed as the opaque phase by the phase separation of the polymer, and the core is formed as a transparent phase by the phase separation of the polymer.
