<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo taking apparatus capable of outputting a photo taking image in a sense of real existence by effectively utilizing stereoscopic vision. <P>SOLUTION: The photo taking apparatus includes: cameras 10, 11 for photographing an object OB from a left eye view point position and a right eye view point position; and a stereoscopic vision image generating section 122 for generating a stereoscopic image on the basis of a photographed object image. The stereoscopic vision image generating section 122 applies correction processing for eliminating perspective of a reference face image of the photographed left eye image IL1 and right eye image IR1 to the photographed left eye image IL1 and right eye image IR2 to produce a left eye image IL2 and a right eye image IR2 and generates a stereoscopic image used for a stereoscopic photo on the basis of the images IL2, IR2. Compositing the image of an attached display object (background) with the object image and applying stereoscopic processing to an image after composition generate the stereoscopic vision image wherein the object and the attached display object are both subjected to stereoscopic vision processing.
