PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give various kinds to a display method of a GUI screen performing list display of functions of recording/reproducing devices and contents data on a recording medium.

SOLUTION: A representative data file in which a plurality of representative data are registered is provided for one contents, a plurality of representative data for one contents are recorded in this representative data file so as to be continuous, also a plurality of representative data of several contents are recorded. And control information indicating relation between each representative data is made control structure provided in index information controlling list information of contents recorded in the recording medium, and this index information is recorded in the recording medium. Thereby, various intrinsic functions are given in a user using the recording medium in which contents are recorded and recording/reproducing devices.
