<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sea water resisting rust prevention method which can sufficiently prevent the corrosion of a structural member consisting of iron based metal caused by sea water, and is also harmless for the environment. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramics powder of 3Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-2SiO<SB>2</SB>is thermally sprayed on the surface of an iron based metallic member under the condition where an amorphous phase appears. Then, the network of the amorphous phase is formed on a through pore in the sprayed coating, and iron ions are precipitated as iron oxide in the network. The iron oxide fills the through pore in the coating, and, at the time when the structural member is contacted with sea water, the sea water is not directly contacted with the structural member, so that the corrosion of the structural member consisting of the iron based metal caused by the sea water can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
