<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation reliability by reducing the influence by dispersion of the birefringent property of a disk-like recording medium and the influence by an astigmatic error of the semiconductor laser. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor integrated device is provided with; a semiconductor substrate 2 on which each specified optical element is arranged; a semiconductor laser 6 emitting a laser beam; a sub-mount 4 which has a standing mirror part 5 for changing the light path by reflecting the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser and is also arranged on the semiconductor substrate mounted with the semiconductor laser; and a photoreceptor 3 for receiving the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser arranged on the semiconductor substrate and reflected by the disk-like recording medium, and the sub-mount and the semiconductor laser are arranged so that the polarizing direction POL of the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser is larger than 0° but smaller than 90° to the tangential direction TAN of the disk-like recording medium 100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
