PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of solving problems in dimensioning transport network which can optimizes performance with respect to a quality of service for users and costs for a manager and is applicable in particular to third generation system such as UMTS.

SOLUTION: The method of dimensioning transport network for a radio access network of a mobile radio network, includes dynamic adaptation of the transport configuration as a function of transport traffic capacity requirements.
