PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of compensating the effect of inertia of a motor or the like for generating a steering auxiliary force on the steering at an accurate timing even when inversion in the steering direction is performed at a high speed. SOLUTION: Based on steering torque T when a rotation of an operating member by the steering is transmitted to a wheel 3 so as to change a steering angle and a rotation angular velocityωof the motor 10 for generating the steering auxiliary force, a steering angular acceleration corresponding value du/dt=Kg/Kx(d2T/dt2)+dω/dt (1/N) corresponding to the sum of a value derived by multiplying a variation acceleration of the steering torque by gain Kg and a rotation angular acceleration of the motor 10 is determined. The electric power steering device has a means 20d for adjusting the gain Kg. The motor 10 is controlled so as to correct the steering auxiliary force in response to a relation between a motor output correction value Ic previously determined and stored to compensate the effect of the inertia exerted on the steering and the steering angular acceleration corresponding value du/dt and the motor output correction value Ic derived based on the determined steering angular acceleration corresponding value du/dt.
