PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing an aromatic liquid crystal polyester film easily peelable from a supporting substrate. SOLUTION: The aromatic liquid crystal polyester film is manufactured by casting an aromatic liquid crystal polyester solution comprising 100 pts.wt. of a solvent containing 30 wt.% or more of a halogen-substituted phenolic compound represented by formula (I) and 0.5-100 pts.wt. of an aromatic liquid crystal polyester, on a resin substrate which is not swollen by the solvent, by removing the solvent to obtain an laminate film of the aromatic liquid crystal polyester, and by peeling the resin substrate off from the laminate film. Here, in formula (I), A indicates a halogen atom or a trihalogenated methyl group; i is the number of As, indicating an integer of 1-5; and if i is 2 or more, a plurality of As may be identical or different.
