PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a person from successfully pretending to be another person when a network is connected. SOLUTION: A radio data communication system is provided with a portable information terminal 10 stored with first authentication information (ID and password), a PHS card 20 stored with second authentication information (terminal number) and connected to the portable information terminal 10, a base station 40 connected by the PHS card 20 and a radio communication line, and an authentication server 50 for authenticating a connection request from the portable information terminal 10. The authentication server 50 is provided with an authenticating means for acquiring the first authentication information stored in the portable information terminal 10 and the second authentication information stored in the PHS card 20 and authenticating the portable information terminal 10 as a result of comparing the first and second authentication information with stored contents of an authentication data storing part 55 that stores the first authentication information and the second authentication information in advance, and a charging condition setting means for setting a charging condition for updating charging information on the basis of the authentication results.
