PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable and large capacity information recording and reproducing system by which stable signal quality is assured at all inner and outer peripheral recording positions to achieve stable reproduction. SOLUTION: The recording region of a disk-like recording medium 1 is divided into a plurality of zones 2a-2f that are successively adjacent in positions in the radial direction. A recording and reproducing clock is allotted to each of the zones 2a-2f. Data are recorded/reproduced by the clock allotted to each of the zones 2a-2f. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
