An indicator (18) disposed between the liquid-impermeable sheet (3) and core (4) of a body fluid absorbable article (1) comprises a water absorbable shee t (21) and a display element (19) intimately contacted with the water absorbab le sheet (21). For the water absorbable sheet (21), use is made of a porous thermoplastic film whose overall light transmittance is not more than 40% in the dry state and not less than 60% in the water absorbing state.
