<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical testing device which enables a safe measurement of constantly varying NO concentration in the depth of the body such as the inside of a blood vessel or the inside of a body cavity and a diagnosis of vascular diseases relating to the NO concentration in the body without causing damage to a sensor and to blood vessel walls. <P>SOLUTION: An NO detecting probe 2 for detecting the NO concentration in a liquid and a protecting element 17 for covering the whole length are provided near the distal end of a flexible catheter 1 containing flexible lead wires 5, 6, 7.
