PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a cross-sectional shape of a vario-trommel, so as to prevent the occurrence of a butt edge enclosed with a paper placing surface or suppress at least a disadvantageous influence, exerted on a sheet, serving as a body to be printed, by the butt edge like this, to an allowable degree. SOLUTION: Mangel segments 806a and 806b of the vario-trommel 801 are selectively oscillated inward and outward. Paper placing members 807a and 807b, which are attached to the mangel segments 806a and 806b, are reversibly deformed by oscillating the mangel segments 806a and 806b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
