PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dioxin-contaminated water purification method which enables the removal of contaminants by using common coagulation equipment and at the same time, separate and remove dioxins at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the dioxin-contaminated water purification method, a metallic coagulant and a radiation-crosslinked body of polyamino acid or a polyamino acid salt are added to dioxin-contaminated water to coagulate and precipitate the dioxins, thereby reducing the dioxin concentration in the contaminated water. As the dioxins can be coagulated and precipitated only by making the metallic coagulant and the radiation-crosslinked body coexist in the contaminated water, dioxin removal treatment can be carried out by the common coagulation equipment without special apparatus or equipment, which realizes low-cost dioxin treatment. As COD components, BOD components, and SS components present in the contaminated water can be coagulated and precipitated by the metallic coagulant and the radiation-crosslinked body, the dioxin removal and normal water purification treatment can be performed at the same time.
