PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a quick and accurate dark current compensation for X-ray image data in an X-ray image diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: The quick and accurate dark current compensation is performed in the following manner. Dark current information is updated by calculating the amount of the increased dark current from the dark current information calculated and stored in advance and dark current image data right before X-ray irradiation, and the dark current compensation is performed by subtracting the dark current information from the image data acquired by transmission X rays.
